American Bubba Gump and the UK

By the time Bubba Gump Shrimp reached London the brand was well established and the range of promotional products was confirmed - T-Shirts, baseball caps and a range of glassware. Whilst much of the product in the London branch reflects that sold in the US, the products all make it clear they are the London branch.
When the London agency started to look for American sports products - Pavilion became involved.

American Footballs

The World of American footballs is of course dominated by the brand Wilson – and whilst it is possible to buy a Wilson ball branded with your logo, there are restrictions on what can and cannot be done with a Wilson ball, and in Bubba Gump’s case they had a particular size and colour requirement. With the exception of the leather Wilson Match Balls – the vast majority of American footballs are made in China. Given our contacts in the world of sports merchandise we were able to source exactly what Bubba Gump were after, creating a couple of different versions of the American football.

Since the products are sold in a shop to the general public the ball is considered a toy under EU regulations EN71 - this means that the PVC must be phthalate free and that the ball needs to be fully tested and certified before it can be sold. Pavilion was able to guide the product through all of this to ensure compliance.

Baseballs

The design of the Bubba Gump baseball may not look demanding but the product is a leather match standard baseball printed to five colours and tight registration. Many ball products are printed flat before the stitching but the baseball is printed to the curved surface of the ball making registration difficult. Pavilion worked directly with the manufacturer, an Indian supplier to the US baseball league,  to advise on print and design.
